Censorship and The Stoutonia

1952-53V42_BannedBooks_002.jpg

The official student newspaper of the University of Wisconsin-Stout, The Stoutonia has been written and edited by students from 1915 to the present.  It has documented student life and given students an outlet for their own freedom of speech and expression.  Throughout the years of The Stoutonia, students have been vocal about censorship from the government, the UW-Stout Administration, and other sources of control.  This collection will provide you with an overview of some of past students' arguments and struggles.

All of the materials from this exhibit are clippings from The Stoutonia, and the full pages, issues, volumes can be accessed at the UW-Stout Digital Collections.
